The decision to delay or close schools due to inclement weather will be shared with parent/guardians via a School Messenger telephone call before 6:30 a.m. during the morning of the weather event.

This decision will be reported on local radio and television stations on or before 7:00 a.m. Weather-related schedule changes will be announced through the following outlets:

During the 2020-2021 School Year, inclement weather days will become asynchronous, virtual days.  In other words, teachers will have assignments and activities posted to their Google Classroom sites to be completed by students at a time of their choice during the snow day.  Utilizing asynchronous, virtual days during inclement weather should not affect future calendar inclement weather make up days, family vacation plans, and graduation dates.

During the morning of the asynchronous, virtual day, we ask students and/or parents to do the following:

  • Work on the assignments/activities posted by your teacher(s) throughout the day.  This work will be asynchronous, so it will be completed when each student or family chooses.  Work should be submitted by 11:59 pm on the inclement weather day.  So, take time to go outside and play in the snow, go sledding, and build a snowman.
  • If students have questions or concerns about their work, teachers will have office hours from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.
