Thanks to a grant from SECEF - South Eastern Community Education Committee, Kindergartners in Mrs. Slonaker's class and students in Mrs. Snyder's class were able to collaborate on January 18th. Mrs. Snyder's Spanish V students performed the Spanish version of Eric Carle's Hungry Caterpillar for the Kindergarten class. After the play, the Spanish students taught the Kindergarten students: days of the week, numbers, and fruits in Spanish. Additionally, they all engaged in centers, puzzles, food and art activities related to the story. In the spring, the Kindergarten students will travel to Kennard-Dale High School to retell
The Very Hungry Caterpillar, in English ,to the Spanish V students.
